AN AMATUER ENTERTAINER IS SOMEONE WHO IS JUST STARTING AND DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO OR PAINT THEIR OWN FACE AND DOESN'T MAKE COSTUMES, OR DO PAGEANTS, AND NEWCOMER ENTERTAINER IS SOME WHO MAKES COSTUMES, DOES THEIR OWN MAKEUP AND HAS AT LEAST DONE/WON A PAGEANT AND NO LONGER DOESN AMATUER TALENT SHOWS, NOW A PROFESSIONAL ENTERTAINER IS SOMEONE WHO IS ON CAST SOMEWHERE OR GETS BOOKINGS FOR AN OUTRAGEOUS FEE, HAS A GOOD FAN BASE AND BASICALLY HAS WORKED VERY HARD TO GET WHERE THEY ARE AND DRAG IS NOT ONLY THEIR CAREER BUT IT'S THEIR LIFE!

The difference in an amature queen and a newbie, to me, is how you carry yourself on stage and off stage. How independant you are. I don't really think that making your own costumes makes you, as many queens simply can't do. But making a costume work for you! Being able to work in a constructive and responsable manner offstage is important also. In many towns, even amatures can get bookings. It's how you handle it. If you come in, do you job. Get along with everyone and put on an overall good show, then you're not an amature. But if you come in have all sorts of mishaps, look a mess and suck on stage then I think it's time to go back to the talent nights and come back for bookings later. A professional queen is one who people look up to. Someone who can give you advice and it not be a load of crap! Someone who knows how the drag bussiness operates and has earned the respect of their peers. That's how I feel about that one
